As a platform that produces and disseminates civic and political content, NepalActs holds itself to editorial standards consistent with the Press Council Nepal's Journalist Code of Conduct, 2016 (amended 2019). This section explains how we handle information in that context, in addition to the data-protection commitments described elsewhere in this Policy.

3.1 Protection of Sources and Respondents

Where a user submits information, opinions, or responses that could expose them to risk if publicly attributed, for example on politically sensitive topics, we will not disclose their identity in any published content without their explicit, informed consent. Where we reuse or republish material already published or broadcast by another source, we will cite that source and, where required, obtain its permission before doing so.

3.2 No Use for Personal or Institutional Gain

Information collected through polls, surveys, and questionnaires will be used only for the public-facing research, analysis, and content described in this Policy, and not for any other personal or institutional purpose.

3.3 Protection of Victims and Vulnerable Individuals

We will not publish any information that identifies a victim or survivor of a disaster, sexual violence, caste-based discrimination or hatred, or similar harm, or their relatives, or any minor, without their (or their guardian's) explicit, consciously given consent. Nor will we attach the name of a person unrelated to an event to content about that event in a way that could undermine their dignity or reputation. We take particular care not to publish content in a manner that causes further distress to individuals affected by such events, and we give due sensitivity to the modesty and self-respect of children, women, elderly, and differently-abled individuals in any content concerning them.

3.4 Non-Discrimination

Demographic data collected through the Services will not be used, published, or shared in any manner that discriminates against or stigmatizes individuals or groups on the basis of caste, ethnicity, gender, religion, region, language, or political belief.

3.5 Transparency in Opinion Surveys and Polls

Where we publish results from polls, surveys, or quadratic-voting exercises conducted through the Services, we will disclose the research methodology used, along with the rationale, background, and any sponsorship associated with the survey.
